Warsaw Wedding Photographer: Editorial Wedding Photography in Poland
Warsaw is a beautiful setting for couples who want their wedding to feel elegant, modern and deeply personal. Historic architecture, sophisticated hotels, green palace gardens and contemporary city spaces make it possible to create a celebration that feels completely your own.
I am Lubov Lisitsa, an editorial wedding photographer working in Warsaw, throughout Poland and internationally. My photography combines natural emotion with thoughtful composition, gentle direction and a timeless editorial aesthetic.
My goal is not to turn your wedding into a long photoshoot. I want you to experience your day fully while I create photographs that feel polished, honest and personal.
Why Choose Warsaw for Your Wedding?
Warsaw offers several completely different atmospheres within one city.
You can have an elegant city wedding in a historic hotel, a romantic celebration in a palace near Warsaw, an intimate civil ceremony followed by dinner, or an outdoor wedding surrounded by gardens.
For photography, this variety is incredibly valuable. A wedding gallery can include classical architecture, modern editorial portraits, emotional documentary moments and relaxed outdoor photographs without requiring an additional wedding-day photoshoot.
Warsaw is also a practical destination for international weddings. The city is well connected, offers a wide selection of hotels and gives couples access to experienced wedding planners, florists, stylists and other creative professionals.

Civil, Church or Outdoor Wedding in Warsaw?
There is no single correct way to get married in Warsaw. The best format depends on your values, the number of guests and the atmosphere you want to create.
Civil Wedding at the Registry Office
A civil wedding at Urząd Stanu Cywilnego can be an elegant choice for couples planning an intimate celebration.
After the ceremony, you can organise a lunch or dinner in one of Warsaw’s restaurants or hotels. We can also plan a short portrait session around the Old Town, the Royal Route or another location close to your venue.
Because civil ceremonies are usually relatively short, even a few hours of photography can tell the complete story: getting ready, the ceremony, family photographs, portraits and the beginning of the celebration.
Church Wedding in Warsaw
A church or concordat wedding is perfect for couples who value tradition, family and the emotional atmosphere of a religious ceremony.
Warsaw has many beautiful historic churches that create a meaningful and visually timeless setting. When planning the schedule, remember to include the journey between the church and the reception venue as part of your wedding photography coverage.
I also recommend checking the photography rules with your parish in advance. Every church may have slightly different requirements for photographers and videographers.

Outdoor Civil Ceremony
A legally recognised civil wedding may also take place outside the registry office, for example in a palace garden or at your wedding venue. The location must be approved by the relevant Registry Office, and an additional administrative fee applies.
This option works particularly well when the ceremony and reception take place at the same venue. It reduces travel, gives your guests more time together and creates a calmer wedding-day timeline.
Always confirm the current requirements directly with the Warsaw Registry Office before making final arrangements.

Symbolic or Humanist Ceremony
A symbolic or humanist ceremony gives you more freedom to personalise your vows, music and the complete structure of the ceremony.
International couples sometimes choose to complete the legal formalities separately and then organise a personal ceremony for their family and friends. If legal recognition is important, confirm the formal requirements with the appropriate authorities or your wedding planner.
Elegant Wedding Venues in Warsaw
The right venue influences not only the appearance of your wedding but also its atmosphere, schedule and photography.
Hotel Bristol
Hotel Bristol is an iconic choice for a sophisticated city wedding. Its Art Nouveau character, high ceilings and location beside Warsaw’s Royal Route make it especially suitable for classical and editorial wedding photography.
It is an excellent option for couples who want to combine elegant interiors with portraits around Krakowskie Przedmieście and the historic centre.
Hotel Bellotto
Located close to the Old Town and the Royal Castle, Hotel Bellotto offers elegant palace interiors, chandeliers, decorative ceilings and a garden.
The architecture already creates a strong visual setting, which means the wedding design can remain refined and relatively minimal.
Villa Foksal
Villa Foksal combines a historic city villa, a garden and an orangery in central Warsaw.
It works beautifully for couples who want greenery and natural light without moving the entire celebration outside the city. Its central location can also make logistics easier for guests staying in Warsaw hotels.
Polonia Palace Hotel
Polonia Palace offers elegant interiors in the centre of Warsaw and can be a good option for a sophisticated reception with convenient accommodation for international guests.
Its location also works well for couples who want an urban Warsaw atmosphere rather than a countryside wedding.
Pałac Rozalin
Pałac Rozalin is a historic estate outside central Warsaw with a large park, palace interiors and an orangery.
It is particularly suitable for outdoor ceremonies, elegant garden receptions and editorial portraits surrounded by nature. Having the preparations, ceremony, portraits and reception in one place can create a much more relaxed schedule.
Pałac Mała Wieś
Located approximately 50 kilometres from Warsaw, Pałac Mała Wieś offers palace architecture, formal gardens and an elegant orangery.
It is a beautiful option for larger celebrations and for couples dreaming of a romantic European palace wedding without travelling far from Warsaw.
Before booking a venue, look beyond the reception room. Check the getting-ready spaces, natural light, ceremony location, rain plan, accommodation and the amount of travel required during the day.
A venue should support your entire wedding experience—not only look beautiful in one photograph.
Pałac Alexandrinum
Located only 13 kilometres from Warsaw, Pałac Alexandrinum is a refined choice for couples dreaming of an elegant wedding surrounded by nature. This four-star boutique hotel sits within a historic 12-hectare park and offers classical interiors, beautiful greenery and accommodation for guests. From a photography perspective, the palace architecture, elegant rooms and peaceful grounds make it possible to create a varied wedding gallery without leaving the venue—while keeping the entire day relaxed and comfortable.

The Best Wedding Photo Locations in Warsaw
You do not need to visit five locations to create a varied wedding gallery. One carefully chosen place close to your ceremony or reception is usually enough.
The Old Town and Royal Route
The Old Town, Krakowskie Przedmieście and the streets around the Royal Castle are ideal for elegant city portraits.
Early mornings and weekdays are usually more comfortable if you want to avoid crowds. On a wedding day, I recommend keeping this part of the session short and planning it around the existing route.

Łazienki Królewskie
The Royal Łazienki gardens offer classical architecture, trees, water and soft natural colours.
They are especially beautiful for romantic portraits, engagement sessions and photographs taken shortly before sunset. Certain buildings and interiors may require permission, so the current photography rules should always be checked in advance.
Wilanów
The palace architecture and gardens in Wilanów create an elegant European atmosphere. This location works beautifully for bridal portraits, engagement photographs and carefully planned editorial sessions.
For a wedding-day session, we should consider travel time, visitor numbers and any photography restrictions before adding it to the schedule.

Modern Warsaw
Couples who prefer a more contemporary aesthetic can choose Powiśle, modern city architecture, a stylish hotel or minimalist urban streets.
An editorial photograph does not require a palace. Clean architecture, good light and confident styling can be just as powerful.

Your Hotel or Wedding Venue
Often, the best location is already part of the wedding.
A beautiful hotel room, staircase, balcony, garden or quiet corridor can provide everything we need. This keeps the experience relaxed and allows you to return to your guests quickly.
How to Create Editorial Wedding Photographs Without Missing Your Wedding
Editorial wedding photography should feel intentional, but it should not feel artificial.
I combine documentary photography with gentle direction. During emotional moments, I observe without interrupting. During portraits, I help with movement, posture and positioning so you never have to wonder what to do with your hands.
A few simple decisions can make a significant difference:
Choose a bright and tidy room for getting ready.
Prepare the rings, invitations, jewellery, shoes and perfume before the photographer arrives.
Allow a little extra time in the morning so the photographs do not feel rushed.
Create a short list of essential family photographs.
Plan approximately 15–20 minutes for couple portraits during the best available light.
Include travel between locations in your photography coverage.
Prepare an indoor alternative for an outdoor ceremony or portrait session.
You do not need to know how to pose. That is part of my job. My approach is to guide you just enough while preserving your natural expressions and connection.
Choosing the Right Warsaw Wedding Photographer
Before booking your photographer, always ask to see complete wedding galleries—not only selected Instagram photographs.
A complete gallery shows how the photographer works in different conditions: morning preparations, dark churches, family photographs, portraits, dinner, speeches and the evening party.
You should also consider:
Does the photographer’s editing style feel timeless to you?
Do people look natural and comfortable in the photographs?
Can the photographer work confidently in low light and with flash?
Does the photographer help with the schedule?
Do you feel comfortable speaking with this person?
Is the contract clear about coverage, delivery and travel?
Arrange a short video call before making the final decision. Your photographer will be close to you throughout the wedding day, so professional experience and personal connection are equally important.
